In 2013, Ford wanted to celebrate the 150th birthday of their founder with a focus on current innovations versus past achievements.
Challenge Use the 150th anniversary of Henry Ford’s birth to engage auto show visitors and take them on a journey that showcases Ford’s latest innovations.
Insight When he founded Ford Motor Company in 1903, Henry Ford was a dynamic young innovator and entrepreneur not unlike the tech disruptors who are transforming the way we live and do business today.
Solution A tour of the Auto Show conducted by Henry Ford himself. Inspired by Hal Holbrook’s classic Mark Twain Tonight, I created a script using actual Henry Ford quotes. The Henry Ford (the folks who run the museum and other attractions) helped cast the actors who played Henry (at various ages) and blessed the final script. Other elements of the experience included a large graphic timeline, a smartphone-based trivia quiz and a souvenir booklet of Henry Ford quotations.
